Stratford-based KUBTEC® is celebrating its 20th anniversary as a pioneer in medical and scientific X-ray imaging. Founded in 2005 with a mission to improve cancer care through advanced imaging, the company has grown into a global leader with systems installed in over 40 countries.
KUBTEC is especially known for its contributions to breast cancer surgery and pathology, including proprietary technologies like 3D Specimen Tomosynthesis and the Image Blender™, which enhance precision and efficiency in surgical and lab settings. Its Scientific division also supports preclinical research through versatile imaging and irradiator systems.
"From the very beginning, we set out to make a difference in how imaging could inform better decisions - in the operating room, in the lab, and beyond," said Vikram Butani, CEO and Co-Founder of KUBTEC. "What started as a bold idea with a small, dedicated team has grown into a global company with systems installed in over 40 countries. Whether in breast cancer surgery or cutting-edge research, we've stayed committed to delivering clarity through innovation."
Recent growth has included the acquisition of GammaPRO™, strengthening its intraoperative surgical offerings, and the launch of XSEED™, an imaging solution for faster seed analysis in agriculture. These moves reflect the company's strategic expansion into new sectors.
KUBTEC has earned five Marcum Tech Top 40 awards and is a finalist for the 2025 Connecticut District Export Council award, recognizing its role in advancing Connecticut’s tech exports.
