Saint Francis Hospital held a press conference to formally welcome Robert Roose, MD, MPH, who was recently named President of Acute Care for Trinity Health Of New England, a role covering Saint Francis Hospital and Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital in Hartford, Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, and Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs.  

Attendees heard remarks from Roose and Steven Hanks, MD, MMM, FACP, FFSMB, President and CEO of Trinity Health Of New England.

Roose has been with Trinity Health Of New England since 2013, holding several leadership positions throughout the region. A physician leader with a broad perspective on health care delivery, Roose brings a combination of clinical expertise, operational experience, and deep knowledge of the ministry. He works closely with physicians, nurses, and care teams to identify practical solutions and support continuous improvement across organizations.

Roose earned a bachelor's degree in molecular physiology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a master's degree in public health in community primary care from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and a Doctor of Medicine from the same institution.

Before joining Trinity Health Of New England, Roose served as Director of Quality Improvement and Medical Director in the Division of Substance Abuse at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. He is board-certified in Family Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, and Addiction Medicine.
