RevMedica, a Middletown medical technology company developing intelligent surgical stapling solutions, appointed Mike Jones as chief executive officer and a member of its board of directors.

Jones brings more than 30 years of global medical technology leadership experience. He most recently served as senior vice president and president of Boston Scientific’s approximately $3 billion Endoscopy division, where he oversaw global operations. At RevMedica, he will lead the company’s strategic direction as it advances regulatory and clinical milestones, prepares for limited market release and builds a commercialization strategy. Jones said: “RevMedica represents a compelling opportunity to bring meaningful innovation to a critical area of surgery. Under Tom Wenchell’s leadership, the team has developed a truly differentiated technology platform with the potential to enhance how surgeons assess and manage tissue during surgical stapling. I’m excited to build on that foundation, working alongside Tom, the RevMedica team, and our Board to advance this intelligent stapling technology toward commercialization.”

Jones succeeds RevMedica founder Tom Wenchell, who will become president and chief operating officer and continue to lead product development, technical operations and day-to-day business execution. The structure pairs Wenchell’s technical leadership with Jones’s experience scaling global medical technology businesses.

RevMedica’s powered surgical stapling platform integrates objective, real-time tissue sensing and feedback to support more informed intraoperative decision-making. It is designed to give surgeons actionable insight into tissue characteristics during critical steps of surgical stapling. The platform received the Food and Drug Administration’s Safer Technologies designation in October 2024.

“Mike brings an exceptional combination of commercial leadership, strategic vision, and a proven ability to build and scale successful medical technology businesses,” said Wenchell, “His experience leading a major global endoscopy business makes him uniquely qualified to guide RevMedica through this important transition.”

RevMedica holds more than 30 issued U.S. patents as it advances toward market introduction.
