Johnson Memorial Hospital's Advanced Wound Center in Stafford Springs has earned the Center of Distinction award from Healogics®, the nation's largest provider of advanced wound care services, recognizing the Connecticut facility's sustained clinical excellence and patient outcomes.

The designation followed twelve consecutive months of outstanding results, including a patient satisfaction rate exceeding 92 percent. The recognition highlights the contributions of the center's physicians, nurses, and clinical staff in delivering specialized wound care to patients across the region.

The Advanced Wound Center operates as part of the Healogics network.  Through this partnership, the center provides evidence-based treatment for patients with diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, and other chronic wounds.

"This recognition reflects the high-quality patient outcomes we strive for at the Advanced Wound Center and throughout Johnson Memorial," said Robert Roose, MD, MPH, President, Johnson Memorial Hospital. "The collaboration between our outstanding nurses and physicians, and the leadership of the Healogics team plays a vital role in achieving top level care directly benefiting our patients."

Care options at the center include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings, growth factor therapies, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, an advanced treatment that increases oxygen delivery to affected tissue to support healing in select chronic wounds.

"I'm very proud of the work we are doing in the Advanced Wound Center," said Lindsey Gamble, MSN, RN, Chief Nursing Officer, Vice President of Operations, Johnson Memorial Hospital. "We are focused on utilizing the latest treatments and therapies, as well as proven techniques and procedures to ensure our patients are receiving the best care possible."
