Hartford HealthCare is expanding its use of Abridge’s AI-powered ambient clinical intelligence platform across its entire clinical enterprise, following a successful pilot and evaluation. The collaboration marks a major milestone in the system’s ongoing efforts to reduce clinician burnout and embrace responsible innovation in artificial intelligence.
The Abridge platform processes tens of thousands of pieces of clinician feedback daily and has already shown impact across more than 55 specialties. By automating clinical documentation, it aims to ease administrative burdens and improve the patient experience. Peer-reviewed research found that 67% of clinicians using Abridge reported feeling less at risk of burnout.
“This innovation is central to patient care and clinician well-being,” said Barry Stein, MD, Vice President and Chief Clinical Innovation Officer, Hartford HealthCare. “The notes built from the conversations with clinicians and their patients are the foundation of the patient record, and capturing them effortlessly has an outsized impact on both the patient’s and the clinician’s experience. Abridge understands this and their vision is aligned with ours. Together, we are not just keeping pace with where healthcare is going—we are helping to shape it.”
“We are at the beginning of our journey together and are privileged to be on it,” added Abridge CEO and Co-Founder Shiv Rao, MD.
