Collinsville-based healthcare incubator Goodroot has announced the successful sale of its regulatory compliance affiliate, ClearFile, to Lumelight, a leading provider of integrated benefits compliance solutions.

Founded by industry expert Joe Boyle, ClearFile has rapidly emerged as a trusted platform for managing complex regulatory filings across the healthcare and insurance sectors. Originally developed to simplify ACA filings, the platform now supports filings related to RxDC, Medicare Advantage, PBM, and TPA licensure.

“Joe came to Goodroot with a vision to solve a problem most people avoid: regulatory complexity,” said Mike Waterbury, President and CEO of Goodroot. “We backed that vision with capital, talent, and infrastructure—and in under two years, he built one of the most respected names in regulatory filing. That's what we do at Goodroot: champion healthcare leaders and accelerate ideas that can reshape the system.”

Boyle praised the collaboration, stating: “Regulatory compliance isn't always seen as exciting, but it's where real business risk—and opportunity—lives. Goodroot gave me the foundation to turn a complex challenge into a scalable solution. Joining Lumelight now positions us to expand that impact even further across the healthcare industry.”

“ClearFile strengthens our commitment to regulatory excellence and supports our ability to reduce administrative burden across the healthcare ecosystem,” said Jason Hall, CEO of Lumelight.

ClearFile will continue operating under Boyle’s leadership within Lumelight, serving healthcare clients nationwide.
