Confidia Health Institute has announced the launch of a new Advanced Wound Care and Surgery Program led by Dr. Nicholas Verdura, MD, FACS, CWS-P, who now serves as Medical Director of Advanced Wound Care and General Surgery. Based in Plantsville, the initiative brings hospital-level care into a community health setting, expanding access for patients in the greater Southington area.

Dr. Verdura is double board-certified and brings over 20 years of experience in wound care, having previously built and led multiple programs across Connecticut, including with Hartford HealthCare. The new program serves patients with diabetic ulcers, pressure injuries, venous stasis ulcers, and other acute or chronic wounds.

To support improved outcomes, Confidia has introduced advanced health technologies, including Smart ABI+ vascular testing, the MolecuLight DX for bacterial detection, and the Arobella Qoustic ultrasonic wound debridement system.

“These tools allow us to deliver hospital-level wound care in an outpatient setting,” said Dr. Verdura. “By combining advanced diagnostics with hands-on expertise, we help patients heal faster, achieve better long-term results, and improve their quality of life.”

“Confidia has always been about meeting patients where they are and providing care that blends innovation with humanity,” said Dr. Kevin Greene, Founder of Confidia Health Institute. “With Dr. Verdura leading our wound care and surgical services, our community now has access to advanced procedures and technologies typically seen at major medical centers - right here in Southington."
