Yale New Haven Hospital has received the 2027-2028 Acute Care Hospital Apex Designation from the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC), recognizing the New Haven, Connecticut hospital's respiratory care program for its excellence in clinical patient care and professional education.
AARC is the leading national and international professional association for respiratory care, working to advance the science and practice of the field while advocating for patients, families and respiratory therapists nationwide. The hospital joins an elite group of respiratory care departments nationally to meet AARC's stringent quality and clinical practice criteria, delivering care across a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services for patients of all ages with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
Katherine Heilpern, MD, president of Yale New Haven Hospital, credited the hospital's respiratory care staff for earning the national honor.
