Dr. Raymond Lorenzoni III, a board-certified pediatric cardiologist, has been elected vice president of the board of trustees of the Fairfield County Medical Association (FCMA). The election occurred during the organization’s annual meeting. Dr. Lorenzoni, an attending physician at Connecticut Children’s, provides care at the institution’s Westport and Hartford campuses.

Born and raised in Fairfield County, Dr. Lorenzoni returned to Connecticut to practice after completing his medical training in New York City and Los Angeles. He currently resides in Woodbridge with his family. As vice president, he aims to help grow FCMA’s membership and influence within the healthcare community.

"As Vice President of the Fairfield County Medical Association, I am deeply committed to our community and will work hard to support Fairfield physicians who are providing the care our patients deserve," said Dr. Lorenzoni, adding, "Together we will advocate for policies that prioritize patient health by ensuring physicians have more of the resources that they need, both professional and social."

The Fairfield County Medical Association, established in 1792 by a Special Act of the Connecticut General Assembly, represents nearly 1,000 physician members. The organization advocates for the art and science of medicine, public health education, and community health promotion. FCMA supports its members with services such as legal assistance, practice management, networking, continuing education, and legislative advocacy. It also provides access to industry-specific discounts and shared communications.

“Dr. Lorenzoni’s expertise caring for pediatric and adult congenital cardiology patients and his prior leadership and innovation within several state and national medical societies make him an invaluable asset to the Fairfield County Medical Association,” stated John Brannelly, FCMA Executive Director, “Dr. Lorenzoni’s dedication to clinical education and health policy will be an incredible resource as we continue to advocate for the highest standards of care."

In addition to Dr. Lorenzoni, other officers elected at the meeting include President Dr. Joseph Feuerstein, Secretary Dr. Andrew Wong, Treasurer Dr. Craig Olin, and Immediate Past President Dr. Camelia Lawrence.

Dr. Lorenzoni’s extensive background in pediatric and adult congenital cardiology includes advanced cardiac imaging. He completed his training at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in New York and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. A graduate of the University of Connecticut, he earned honors as a double major in Molecular & Cell Biology and Chemistry and received his Doctor of Medicine from the same institution.

Dr. Lorenzoni is a member of several professional organizations, including the Connecticut State Medical Society, the American Medical Association, and the Society of Pediatric Echocardiography. His research focuses on 3D cardiac visualization for congenital heart disease, fetal cardiology, and clinical education. He has received multiple research grants and collaborated with Microscape, Inc. to develop advanced imaging technologies for pre-surgical planning.

Dr. Lorenzoni’s election marks a significant step in his commitment to advancing healthcare and supporting the physician community in Fairfield County.
